in 2015, the company has begun the process of introducing Japanese buckwheat of “Kitawase” variety from Hokkaido, Japan, to Mongolian soil. This variety is well suited to dry and cool climate of Mongolia and does not require pesticides and fertilizers for crop protection. Estimated average harvest per hectare is 1.0-1.5 tons.

Buckwheat helps lower blood glucose, neutralizes insulin production and is accepted as a “health product” to treat diabetes.

The Company is committed to naturalising cultivation techniques of buckwheat in Mongolia, and as well as exporting to Japan we are working towards supplying buckwheat to domestic markets. We are also in the process of organising development of grocery products based on the buckwheat, thereby promoting locally grown healthy food for Mongolians.
